Aislin's Face

Day 1, 2, and 3.
These pictures don't do it justice at all. You could see the swelling and black eye from a mile away. It was encredible and jaw dropping. We stopped people in their tracks walking in the store.
She face planted into the corner of the coffee table. It swelled so fast and furious, I really thought we were going to the ER.
It's been 8 days now and there is still bruising, a bit of swelling, and there is some hard tissue under the scrape. I am a little concerned about the hard stuff because I don't want her to be disfigured or lopsided. My hope is that it will go down, dissolve, whatever.
We'll see.
My poor injured baby.

Yeah, that scar tissue is worrisome. I ran my calf into the dishwasher at the beginning of summer and I still have a hard area today I noticed! But it is going down. Cate has a golf ball sized injury from the summer on her stomach that is all hard too. Amazing what we can do to our bodies. Hope it isn't too painful for the girl.

Go to a health food store and get arnica cream. It's for bruises. You ca also get tablets to take internally - they're tasteless, tiny and dissolve under the tongue.

A couple of months ago Aani ran full speed into a door jamb. She had a nice lump and bruise. People would look at it and I'd immediately say, "She ran into a door jamb, I don't beat my children."

Poor Aislin. It looks really awful, but don't worry- I don't think you beat her.

I can't believe how awful it is, and it's a miracle you didn't have to take her into the ER. Poor girl...) ;

I can't believe you didn't have to take her to the ER - what a miracle! It looks like it could have easily needed stitches if it were just a little sharper corner. Maybe you can use it to make her look really goulish for halloween though...( ;

Oh sooo sorry! I love the pic of her smiling! She is such a trooper. Good luck trying to get all that swelling down. Only you would post those pics on your blog! Fearless. I would probably be afraid CPS would show up at my door! You guys are definitely in our prayers! Miss you
