Volcano

Hopped over to Big Island with Aunt Deanna. What an amazing trip!


Not sure how well you can see in this picture, but the Vog coming off the volcano was very red.



We went through a Lava tube. It was alot bigger and longer than we thought.

The entrance to the tube was in a gorgeous rain forest. Everything looked oversized, like we were in a cartoon or fairy tale.

Mass Devastation. Half of the island looks like this. Just massive destruction on a scale I have never seen before. We walked on lava flows from the 1800's to 2007.

The Plume. Very intimidating. It just felt crazy to be driving closer and closer. Who drives TOWARDS a volcano! Pure exilleration. We could have gone closer, but the gates didn't open until 5 pm and we had a LONG drive to make to the other side of the island. That just gives us a reason to go back!
